This story is truly a tear-breaker. "Sold' is actually a fictional book, but it is very much realistic, which makes it something to relate to in life.Once the reader starts reading this story, they will not be able to set the book down, i know i didn't. By the time you reach the end of the book, you will definitely want more.
How do the characters change or evolve throughout the course of the story? what events trigger such changes? In the very beginning of the book towards half of the book, the main character [Lakshmi], is just an ordinary poor girl who lives in a poor village with little food. As the story continues, she is tricked into thinking she is going to work as a maid i the city and thinks she will be very wealthy, but when she gets to this home, she soon realizes that it was all lies. She is introduced to Human Trafficking. She finds herself in a complete different world.the 13 year old girl that use to be with her family, struggling for food, is now struggling for her life.
Do the characters seem real and believable? Can you relate to their predicaments? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you may know? The characters definitely seem real and believable because there are people all over the world that are kidnapped and forced to work in such horrific system, no being should be forced to be in Human Trafficking. I cant relate to the situation personally but i have heard of many stories and seen documentaries about the topic. It is real and its all around us. I don't know anybody close to me that has been faced with this bus i have seen what can happen from movies, etc.
